Conflicts Of Interest Policy
The Innovation of Chemistry & Materials for Sustainability (ICMS) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, integrity, and ethical publishing guidelines. All participants in the publication process - authors, reviewers, and editors - must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the objectivity or integrity of their work
For Authors
Authors are required to disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the results or interpretation of their research. These may include, but are not limited to:
- Funding sources, grants, or sponsorships
- Employment, consultancies, or advisory roles
- Ownership of stocks or shares
- Patent applications or intellectual property interests
A statement of conflicts of interest (or a declaration of no conflict) must be included in all submitted manuscripts.
For Reviewers
Reviewers should disclose any conflicts of interest that may bias their evaluation of a manuscript. If a conflict exists—such as collaboration with the authors, competitive relationships, or personal connections—reviewers must decline the review or inform the editorial office immediately.
For Editors
Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest, including relationships with authors or institutions involved in the submission. In such cases, the manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor to ensure an unbiased review process
Transparency and Compliance
All disclosed conflicts of interest will be handled in accordance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Failure to disclose relevant conflicts may result in rejection of the manuscript, retraction of published articles, or other corrective actions.
